As part of an ear examination, you may be asked to perform simple tasks, such as bending down to touch your toes. Throat exams involve physical touching of the neck area, such as slight pressure applied to the glands in your neck.

Faqs

ENT stands for ear, nose and throat medicine, covering a wide spectrum, from hearing and balance to voice, breathing and swallowing.
You’ll be seen by a consultant ENT specialist or surgeon with expertise in your presenting symptoms.
Micro‑suction is a safe, quick method that uses a very gentle suction device and a microscope to remove stubborn earwax. It’s typically comfortable and takes only minutes.
You’ll be introduced to the team, asked about your medical history and symptoms, and examined. Simple tasks or light physical tests may be used. All findings and next steps are explained clearly.
Your consultant will send a letter with findings and recommendations to your GP, usually within a few working days.
If treatment is needed (eg MRI, hearing aid, minor surgery), we’ll support you with flexible next steps, whether delivered here or through your GP or insurer.
